Playmat
Terms of use
Last updated 2 August 2026
These terms govern the use of the Playmat app for iOS and of the
playmat.farre.cat website. By downloading or using the app you accept them. If you
do not agree, do not use it.
1. Who is behind this
The app and the site are made by Oriol Farré, independent developer.
Contact: playmat@farre.cat
This agreement is between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not a party to these terms.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Playmat on Apple devices that you own or control, in accordance with Apple’s App Store Usage Rules.
These terms supplement Apple’s Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement. Where they conflict on a specific point, whichever term is more favourable to you as a consumer prevails.
3. What you may not do
- Sell, rent, sublicense or distribute the app.
- Modify, decompile or reverse-engineer it, beyond what the law expressly allows you.
- Use it for anything unlawful, or attempt to disrupt the service.
4. Price and future purchases
The current version of Playmat is free, with no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no advertising.
We expect to add paid features (in-app purchases or subscriptions) in future versions. When that happens:
- Paid features will be optional and will be announced on the App Store page and in the release notes before you download them.
- What you already have installed will not become paid retroactively.
- Charges are handled by Apple, not by us: price, taxes, payment method and invoices depend on your Apple Account.
- Subscriptions are managed and cancelled from your Apple Account settings, and renew automatically unless you cancel before the next period.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own terms.
We will update these terms before putting any paid feature on sale.
5. Intellectual property
The code, design, the Playmat name, the icon and all website content are ours or used under licence. The licence to use the app transfers none of those rights to you.
The website typefaces (Fraunces, Karla and DM Mono) are used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, from their respective authors.
6. Updates and availability
We may release updates, change features or stop maintaining the app. We do not guarantee that it will be available forever or compatible with future versions of iOS. Playmat requires an iPhone running iOS 26 or later.
7. Maintenance and support
Maintenance and support for Playmat are our responsibility, not Apple’s. Apple has no obligation to provide any support for this app. For anything at all, write to playmat@farre.cat.
8. Warranties
Playmat is provided as is. We do our best to make it work well, but we do not warrant that it is free of errors or fit for a particular purpose.
Playmat is a tool for playing games: it is not a certified stopwatch or a measuring instrument, and must not be used where an incorrect time measurement could have consequences.
Nothing in this section limits your statutory consumer rights under mandatory law.
If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may ask Apple for a refund under its terms. Beyond that refund, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or losses arising from use of the app. We do not exclude or limit liability for wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or any other liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.
Any claim about the app (defects, legal non-compliance, third-party rights or consumer protection) must be addressed to us, not to Apple.
10. Third-party services
Playmat uses the Sentry SDK to receive technical crash reports. The detail is in the privacy policy. The app is distributed by Apple, and use of the App Store is governed by Apple’s terms.
11. Legal compliance
By using the app you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a United States Government embargo and are not listed on any US list of prohibited or restricted parties. This representation is an Apple requirement for distributing apps on the App Store.
12. Apple as third-party beneficiary
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you as a user of the app.
13. End of the licence
The licence ends when you uninstall the app or if you materially breach these terms.
14. Governing law
Spanish law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence and to the consumer protection rules of your country of residence within the European Union.
